Pre‑requisite: Identify Integration Workflow and System

Before starting the integration process, providers must identify where in their workflow tool (or EHR) they intend to integrate the Optum Real Medical APIs.
Identification of the integration point is required before integration can begin.

Steps to integrate Optum Real APIs:

1. Subscribe to Optum Real APIs on Optum AI Marketplace
2. After subscribing, complete enrollment process for payer via Optum AI Marketplace
3. Receive API credentials in your Marketplace account
4. Access Developer Portal
   1. Review the Overview document for Optum Real APIs
   2. Review API Setup for details on how to generate a token for sandbox and production
   3. Review the Overview and Technical Reference Guide for each API subscribed to
5. Implementation pre-requisites
   1. Obtain Client ID and secret key
   2. Generate API token
   3. Download API Data Dictionary available in Technical Reference Guide for each API subscribed to
   4. Check success response - use Try It or other method
6. Begin integration
