The Submitter API provides clients with simplified JSON HTTPS interface to submit supported transactions. It is an API solution that allows direct connectivity to Optum’s Azure Cloud environment.
How This Works
The Submitter API seamlessly integrates client software with Optum Insight’s processing system Rx Connect. Clients use their Submitter ID to submit claims.
The following is a summary of the Submitter API workflow:
- Client posts an identifying message to the Submitter API via the OI API Gateway
- The OI API Gateway authenticates the client or returns an error message
- Client posts the transaction to Submitter API
- Submitter API verifies the client is registered to use the service (and returns an error if not) and sends the transactions to Rx Connect
