Authentication & Security
Access to the API requires robust authentication mechanisms. ABM Clinical Order Guidance API uses
Sentinel with OAuth 2.0 for authentication.
Authentication Workflow
• Request token from authorization server
• Include token as part of Authorization header with each API call
• Validate token/key for each request; reject unauthorized access

Retrieve your OAuth2 Access Token using client id and secret (which are shared to
consumer). Then retrieve your access token. Refresh the token, token type, and
expiration time. Your access token will expire in two hours
